TRAIN
For a long distance trip but also for shorter rides, the railway is an excellent option: the trains are comfortable, clean, fast, arriving on time.
The Spanish railway system, RENFE, runs trains over the whole country. There are different kinds of trains (estrella, Talgo, etc.). Different special discounts are available (for youth, for families, for retired people, discounts on "blue days", etc.).
For foreigners or Spanish non residents, there are also the tourist card and the Inter Rail ticket.
